In 1983, the increasing illness of longtime Winnie the pooh voice actor Sterling Holloway led to an open call to replace him for the movie "Winnie the pooh and a day for Eeyore." Cummings hired and this was his first voice actor job.
Over the next 20 years his role in voice acting evolved from bit characters to leading roles in major series including leading roles in Chip 'N' Dale Rescue rangers, Goof Troop and House of Mouse and movies such as Hercules, The Hunchback of Notredame, Pocahontas and his non-speaking turn as Ed the laughing hyena in The Lion King.

He began his Voice over career as an extra in the animated television show called The Smurfs . He recently took on the role of Experiment 625 in the Lilo and Stitch Tv series. He has done alot of roles as animals such as Spike in he Land Before time movies, Spike in Tom and Jerry and sometimes Pluto in some of the Disney movies along with other additional voices.
He is best known for his voice acting for Goofy and Pluto, two famous Disney characters, and more recently he has also played Horrace Horsecollar. Another big role he played was in the Looney Tunes movie "Space Jam", where he voiced Yosamite Sam, Sylvester, and Foghorn Leghorn. He learned he had a knack for doing voices when he was young and of all the characters he liked, he liked none of them better than Goofy. He always like watching cartoons, never dreaming that one day he would get to actually be the voice of Goofy, which he has done since 1986.

Paul was famous in ventriloquism with his dummy called Jerry Mahoney in which they had their own show called "Winchell - Maloney time" in 1965 What may be even more famous is as the voice of Tigger in Walt Disney's "Winnie The Pooh", which he played until 1999, when he was replaced by Jim Cummings. He is also famous for voicing Dick Dastardly in Hannah - Barbera 's "Wacky Races" and Gargamel in "The Smurfs".

Most famously remembered as Winnie the Pooh. His first voice was the Stork in "Dumbo" He retired in 1979 and was named a Disney Legend in 1991.

He was born on this site and went to school here then attended the Georgia Military Academy in College Park. now Woodward Academy. He then began a stage career before moving to Hollywood in 1930 to begin a movie career that was to last for 40 years. He was one of the busiest character actors in the movies and worked with Clark Gable, Joan Crawford, Marlene Dietrich, Bing Crosby, Barbara Stanwyck, Jimmy Cagney, Fred Astaire and Gary Cooper. In 1941 Holloways voice was heard in his first Walt Disney animated film, Dumbo. His voice appeared in Bambi, Peter and the wolf, Alice in Wonderland, Jungle book and the Winnie the pooh series. In 1988's "The new adventures of Winnie the Pooh" he continued to voice owl.
